Ask Governor Brown to Sign AB96!
Earlier this week, the California State Legislature sent AB96 to Governor Jerry Brown – a bill that would help save Adult Day Health Care services for California seniors.
If signed by the Governor, AB96 would help prevent countless seniors from being forced to forego the critical health care services they need – the loss of which could potentially cost hundreds, if not thousands, of lives and force many more California seniors into costly state-run institutions or nursing homes.
That’s why we need to pick up the phones TODAY and call the Governor and urge him to PLEASE SIGN AB96, a bill that would create a new program to replace Adult Day Health Care (ADHC).

The elimination of ADHC has left millions of California seniors at grave risk of losing necessary care. AB96 would help bridge the gap by establishing the “Keeping Adults Free from Institutions” (KAFI) program, providing critical care to the neediest seniors and saving thousands from being institutionalized or forced into nursing homes.
We need Governor Brown to sign AB96 as soon as possible! Adult Day Health Care providers are unable to transition consumers to In-Home Supportive Services and other programs because they can’t deliver the skilled nursing care, medications or therapy. That’s why we need to pick up the phones today and call the Governor’s office and encourage him to sign the legislation establishing the ”Keeping Adults Free from Institutions” Program!
