Eve of the Deadline!
We’re now just ONE DAY away from the Constitutional deadline for a state budget! And while we continue to keep the pressure on legislators to pass a responsible and timely budget that maintains existing revenue streams AND opposes a lethal spending cap – Republican legislators have now returned to the Governor with their tired list of demands and outrageous concessions – including a punitive spending cap that will create an era of permanent cuts and lock-in low level funding for health care and human services programs indefinitely!
Take Action: Make a Google Search Video
Have you ever wanted to create your own video? Well now you can! YouTube and Google have a new, free tool that allows users to create short movies based on Google search words. You can use this tool to create your own narrative explaining why we need a budget that includes the Governor’s proposals to maintain existing revenue streams, or a video outlining why a spending cap would obstruct California’s economic and family recovery!
Want to see how it works? Click here to see a sample movie created by the HHS Network.
Click here to get started and create your very own YouTube/Google “SearchStory!”
Once you’ve created your video – be sure to post it to your Facebook wall and your Twitter account (and don’t forget to include the #cabudget and #cagov hashtags)!
