Two Days Left!

13 June, 2011 (21:15) | Grassroots Action | By: HHS Network CA

We’re only TWO DAYS away from the Constitutional deadline for a state budget. Both the Senate and Assembly are scheduled to meet today – which means we need to keep the pressure on for a fair and timely budget.

While there’s no doubt that we need a responsible and reasonable budget that maintains existing revenue streams – it’s also important that we complete a budget ON TIME. Many Californians stand to suffer if we don’t have a GOOD budget delivered by the deadline of June 15.

Take a moment to take action today and show your support for a responsible and timely budget!

Take Action: Tweet it/Post it to Facebook

We want to hear from you! Let us know how you, your family, or other people you care about will be impacted if California doesn’t have a responsible budget with revenues signed by the constitutional deadline!

Post your story to Twitter using the #cabudget and/or #cagov hashtags, or post it to your Facebook profile wall!

SAVE THE DATE: Rally & Vigils for a Fair Budget

Over the past three months, we’ve done a fantastic job of demonstrating how vital child care, health care, and support services for seniors and people with disabilities are to our communities. We have shown that public does not want to see cuts to these programs.

The Legislature is obligated to finish the budget by Wednesday June 15.

We need to make sure they maintain existing revenue streams so Californians don’t suffer any more have devastating and life-threatening cuts; that they don’t impose a spending cap; and that Governor Brown doesn’t “blue pencil” the restorations that have been recently made by the Legislature!
