Hundreds rally and march in Downtown L.A.

19 June, 2010 (00:46) | Grassroots Action | By: Kim Kruckel

Hundreds of Los Angeles community members gathered  to rally and march in Downtown Los Angeles on Tuesday and call for a Family Recovery Budget that considers smart revenue solutions. They met in front of the Governor’s office to show that there are serious consequences to an all cuts budget that targets working families, children, disabled people, and senior citizens.

As Reverend William Smart called out each of the proposed May Revise cuts from the Governor’s budget, community members who would be affected by these deadly proposals dropped to the ground in symbolic demonstration that these cuts will devastate and destroy the lives of countless Californians.

Ending the rally, community members called their Conference Committee members to hold the line on the budget, and make sure that any fair budget package considers revenue solutions.
